At ALS Identify, sustainability is becoming an increasingly important part of how our customers, partners, and supply chains assess risk, responsibility, and long-term value. In response, we have published our first Sustainability Report for 2025, setting out a clear, proportionate view of our environmental, social, and governance practices.
This report has been prepared voluntarily, using the EFRAG Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standard for SMEs (VSME). While we are not currently subject to mandatory ESG reporting requirements, we recognise the growing need for transparency and consistency, particularly when supporting customer tenders, audits, and supply chain assessments.
The 2025 report establishes a baseline across key areas of our business. During the reporting year, ALS Identify recorded total Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions of 107.9 tCO₂e, providing a clear reference point against which future performance can be measured. This includes electricity generated and consumed on site through solar panels, alongside recent upgrades to energy-efficient LED lighting with motion sensors.
The report also covers waste management, water use, and pollution controls, reflecting the relatively low-impact nature of our office and workshop-based operations.
Beyond environmental metrics, the report documents our approach to workforce wellbeing, health and safety, training, and governance. In 2025, ALS Identify employed 26 permanent employees, across a mix of office-based and workshop-based roles, supported by clear policies, training, and operational controls. This provides a transparent snapshot of how the business operates day to day.
Importantly, this first report is not presented as a finished sustainability strategy. Instead, it provides a structured starting point. As our sustainability reporting matures, we will use this baseline to identify practical improvement opportunities that are proportionate to the size and nature of our business.
We also recognise that our impact extends beyond our own operations. Through the automation and identification solutions we deliver, we support manufacturers in improving efficiency, reducing rework, and minimising material waste across their production processes.
